Inspect the scooter before use
Control the following in the inspection:
- Wheel
- Brake
- Visual check
If you detect any issue with the scooter, please report this in the app and don't use the scooter.
Ride alone and sober
It's illegal to ride two people on the same scooter. It's important that you follow this for your own and others' safety.
Don't ride under the influence of alcohol. Remember, there are other transportation methods when you have been drinking, such as taking a bus or taxi.
Follow the traffic rules
Remember that you always have to follow the traffic rules. Some important rules that you need to remember:
- Stop at red light
- Use bike lane if possible
- Give way to cars and bicycles from the right
- Don't ride in the wrong direction in one-way streets
- Always get off the scooter on a pedestrian crossing
- Keep to the right when you are riding
Focus on the road, not your phone
It's important to not be on your phone when you ride. If you need to check your phone you should stop the scooter.
Don't listen to music when you ride so you can hear other road users, passers-by or emergency vehicles.
Ride carefully
Show consideration when you ride on the sidewalk and in the walkway. Remember to use your bell and adjust the speed. Show extra consideration to children and visually impaired people.
When you pass a pedestrian on the sidewalk or in the walkway, the max speed may not exceed 6 km/h.
Be mindful of where you park
There are many good places to park! Some of these include spacious sidewalks, parking spaces for electric scooters, and bike racks.
On larger squares, parking in the middle of the square is not allowed.
It is strictly forbidden to park in a bicycle lane, handicap spot, guiding lines for visually impaired people and in the roadway.
Do not block pathways
Think about where you park the scooter. It's important that the scooter does not take up space near entrances and exits.
Examples of places that may not be blocked is emergency exits, doors, gates and garage doors.
Garbage bins, benches, etc. shall not be obstructed by scooters.
Avoid narrow sidewalks when parking
There is a chance that the parked scooter will be an obstacle even if it has been parked parallel to the wall. Parking is not allowed on sidewalks narrower than 2 meters.
Investigate if the sidewalk is wide enough for a wheelchair-bound person to pass without complications. Search for another place to park your scooter if this is not possible.
Park parallell to the wall
The most important thing to keep in mind when you park your scooter is to keep the pathway clear. Show consideration for people with physical disabilities.
Always park very closely to the wall when possible. It's important that the scooter takes up minimum amount of space.
Take clear photos of your parking
You may be required to take a photo of your parking after your trip. It's important to take a clear picture and to capture the surroundings. Take the photo with approximately 2 meter distance.
You can win credits every time you take a photo of a good parking. If you fail to take a photo of your parking, your account may be suspended.
