Our electric scooter is equipped with an electric motor and a rechargeable battery. This is an environmentally friendly means of transportation that easily gets you around the city.
To use our electric scooters, you need to download our app, which is available in the App Store or Google Play. In our app, you will have access to a map showing available electric scooters. Create an account, find an electric scooter, start it, and ride to your desired destination. Park in a way that the electric scooter does not unnecessarily obstruct others.
Before you start using our service, familiarize yourself with traffic rules and local regulations related to the use of electric scooters. Our driving and parking school is a great place to start!
Get to know the vehicle. Before starting a journey, you must perform a safety check before each ride. Check the brakes and the rest of the electric scooter, and look for any visible defects.
Ride carefully. Start slowly and use beginner mode until you feel comfortable riding the electric scooter. Beginner mode can be activated under "settings" in the menu of our app.
The e-scooter is equipped with both front and rear brakes so you can safely reduce speed or stop. When braking or stopping, hold both brakes. Be aware of braking distance and reaction time. The higher the speed, the longer it takes to stop.
Our e-scooters are equipped with turn signals to help you signal to other road users where you intend to go. Always use the turn signals when turning so other road users know where you are heading.
Use the throttle to gain speed. Place one foot on the scooter and press the throttle to get started. Push off and press the throttle to begin riding.
Use the kickstand located under the e-scooter so that it remains upright when parked. It is important to ensure the e-scooter is securely placed and not unnecessarily obstructing others. In some cities you can risk getting fined for incorrectly parking and obstructing others with the parking.
In the Ryde app, you'll find various different zones all over the map. These zones show where you can park and ride your scooter. For more details, tap on the different zones on the map in our app to view a full description of each zone.
